Lee was recalled from the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL by the Phoenix Coyotes to the Pirates on Wednesday.
Lee’s third assignment to Portland was prompted by an injury to goalie Mark Visentin. Coyotes’ Asst. GM said in an email conversation that Visentin was “banged up”, dealing with a lower-body injury. Visentin, who has appeared in 22 games, posting a 2.85GAA with a .909 save percentage with two shutouts this season, is listed day-to-day and will be re-evaluated later this week.
The Roseau, Minnesota native is on his third recall with the Pirates and has a 3-0-0 record with a 1.31GAA with a .960 save percentage for Portland.
Lee, 6-foot-1, 190-pound, has played 27 games with the Pirates’ ECHL in Gwinnett (GA.) where he was named an ECHL All-Star, recording a 14-11-1 record, 2.23GAA and .916 save percentage with two shutouts.
