Due to impending severe weather that will impact the majority of the New England region, the American Hockey League has postponed this evening’s game between the Portland Pirates and the Worcester Sharks, which was schedule to be held at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.

Forecasters have predicted as much as 18 inches of snow in parts of Massachusetts and more than a foot locally in Portland, which would have made travel treacherous.

The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at 7:00pm.
