Injury concerns ease with the return of Stuart

Still no word from the Portland Pirates on injuries to forwards Mark Parrish and Travis Turnbull, but there will be one player returning the line up this weekend.

Colin Stuart was assigned back to the Pirates today by the Buffalo Sabres.

Stuart played in three games for the Sabres where he was scoreless with a plus-1 rating, but he had several chances to score in those contest.

This was Stuart’s first appearance in an NHL since the ’08-’09 season where he tallied eight points (5G 3A) in 33 games.

The Pirates will not practice tomorrow; instead will be on the ice on Wednesday at the Civic Center.

Hockey Canada announced to today that four Buffalo Sabres prospects were named to the Canadian National Jr. Team Selection Camp roster.

First-round picks Zack Kassian and Mark Pysyk are among the four selected along Marcus Foligno and Brayden McNabb as a total of 39 players will take part in Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp from December 12-15 in Toronto. The final roster will be announced at the conclusion of camp, and will represent Canada at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo from Dec. 26-Jan. 5.

USA Hockey announced today they will unveil their preliminary roster for the U.S. National Jr. Team on Dec. 7 at a press conference at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.

    which Forward (Galgovsky/Cox) did we just sign to a PTO AND WAS either released to make way for Stuart’s return?
