The Lewiston Maineiacs suffered their second loss in as many nights to the Quebec Remparts, falling 6-4, at Ancienne-Lorette Arena in Ancienne-Loretta, QC.
The Maineiacs actually held a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play on goals by Jess Tanguy and Samuel Carrier.
The Remparts broke through scoring their lone goal against Jordan Kennedy at 2:24 of the second period.
Quebec tied the game, 2-2, when Jonathan Audy-Marchessault scored a power goal on Andrey Makarov – who replaced Kennedy midway into the period — at 11:54 of the period.
Cameron Critchlow regained the lead for the Maineiacs early in the third period, at 2:08, but it was short-lived as Axel Rioux scored only 38 seconds later, tying the game at 3-3.
Again, the Maineiacs found a way to take the lead for the third time of the game as Tanguy scored for the time – both goals were on the power play – at 7:26 of the third period.
Just 12 seconds later, Audy-Marchessault scored his second of the night as the Remparts stormed backed scoring three goals in a span of 4:01, as Quebec built a 6-4 lead.
Kennedy stopped 12 of 13 shots he faced in the game, while Makarov made 13 saves on 18 shots in the loss.
Makarov stopped Olivier Hinse on a penalty shot attempt at the 4:50 mark of the third period.
Louis Domingue made 22 saves for win.
Lewiston went 2-for-2 on the power play, while Quebec was 2-for-4 on the night.
NOTES: The Maineiacs will return back to Lewiston for the week before heading back to the Maritimes for a pair of games against the Moncton Wildcats in Moncton and Fredericton.
