By  Published: 27th July 2010

Maine Hockey Journal has learned that Darren Rumble will be the next associate head coach of Lewiston Maineiacs.

Rumble, 41, has spent the last five seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization as part of their coaching staff for their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, MA and Norfolk, VA.

Rumble, who took over as head coach of the Norfolk Admirals prior to the start of the 2008 season, was relieved of his duties last January. In 122 games as head coach with the Admirals, he led them to a 50-61-6-5 record.

The Barrie, Ontario native spend 16 year in professional hockey as a player including 193 games in the NHL with Ottawa, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Tampa Bay where he scored 10 goals, 26 assists for 36 points during that span.

Both the Maineiacs and Rumble are finalizing a contract and an official announcement from the team should be made in the coming days.
