Jr. Pirates add another piece to the puzzle

By  Published: 16th June 2010

The Portland Junior Pirates have added some scoring punch to their lineup with the signing of forward Ryan Salkeld.

Salkeld, a ’91 prospect, is from Portsmouth, Virginia and spent last season with the Hampton Roads Whalers of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League, where he led the team in scoring with 62 points (33g, 29a), ranking him fourth in league scoring.

“Ryan’s a big smooth skating winger who had a lot of success in the MJHL,” Jr. Pirates Head Coach Brad Church. “He has the ability to play the point on the power play and will be counted on to be an offensive leader for our team. We are very excited to have him on our roster.”
