Lemay earns his first pro victory

Adrien Lemay has earned his first professional win with a 6-2 victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators. Lemay who signed with the Florida Everglades after the Lewiston Maineiacs season ended on Wednesday night. Lemay stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced.

The game on Sunday also featured former Maineiac defenseman Chad Denny who plays for the Gladiators. Denny was held off the score sheet. Former Maine Black Bear, Matt Duffy also plays for the Everglades and was also held without the a point.

Florida is behind the South Carolina Stingrays where David de Kastrozza signed last week. The former Maine Black Bear hasn’t seen any action so far. The other Maine connection on the Stingrays roster is Keith Johnson who played at the University of Maine from 2003-2007. He also played seven games with the Portland Pirates in 2008-2009 recording a goal and an assist.

Matt Boyle, the other Lewiston player to sign a professional contract last week, has appeared in two games with the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League. He has two penalty minutes in two games.
