Sophomore Bryan Taylor scored with 49.5 seconds remaining to give Hamilton College a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the University of New England Saturday afternoon at Hamilton’s Russell Sage Rink.

Taylor’s second goal of the game — and fourth in the last two contests — put the finishing touches on a Continental rally that saw them overcome a 4-2 third-period deficit.

First-year Adam Laite had two goals and one assist to lead the UNE offense. Junior Jack Nolin and first-year Tyler Fleurent chipped in a goal and an assist.

Anthony Scarpino, Joe Houk and BJ Lalonde had two-point afternoons for Hamilton (10-6-2), which is unbeaten in its last six outings. First-year goaltender Calvin Bartel played the final 30 minutes for the Continentals to register the victory.

UNE rookie netminder Dallas Ungurian stopped 40 of the 45 shots he faced. Hamilton outshot UNE 45-27 for the game, including 20-5 in the third period.

Fleurent gave the visitors a 1-0 lead just 1:16 in the contest. Kelly scored 49 seconds later during a Hamilton short-handed situation. The Continentals would make it 2-1 at 14:38 of the first on Scarpino’s 10th goal.

The Nor’easters exploded for three goals in a three-minute span midway through the second period to assume a 4-2 lead. Nolin scored at 11:19 and Laite followed with consecutive scores.
