After a timeout by Maine at the 8:54 mark of the final period, Brett Carriere tied the contest up 15 seconds later with Van Dyk tallying the helper.

The Black Bears had a 5-on-3 powerplay to work with as Ryan Lowery went off for tripping and Kris Fredheim sat for tripping at the 10:16 mark.
