By  Published: 29th November 2009

Jeff Cowan, Matt Caruana, Brad Larsen and Cody McCormick all scored to pace the Portland Pirates to a 4-1 win over the Lowell Devils in an American Hockey League game played tonight in front of 1,608 at the Tsongas Arena.

Tyler Ennis added a pair of assists in the game as the Pirates extended their points streak to eight games (5-0-3-0). Portland also climbed back to .500 for the first time since opening the season and are now 10-10-3-0.

Nick Palmieri scored the lone goal for the Devils, who suffered their third straight loss to drop to 12-9-3-0 on the season.

Cowan opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the opening minute of the game and Caruana followed (with his first as a member of the Pirates) in the opening minute of the second as the Pirates built a 2-0 lead. Larsen, with his first as a member of the Pirates in his first game back after missing 19 due to injury, made it 3-0 midway through the second before Lowell finally solved Pirates goaltender Jhonas Enroth with a power-play goal in the final minutes of the second. McCormick completed the scoring with an empty netter in the final minute of regulation.

The Pirates led 1-0 after one and 3-1 heading into the third.

Lowell out shot the Pirates 31-30 in the game as Enroth posted the win in his first start since November 15th.
