Lewiston scores four unanswered goals to defeat Shawinigan

Shawinigan, QC – The Maineiacs got two point efforts from two newcomers in the 4-1 victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes. Sebastien Trudeau and Oscar Orrpars each had a goal and an assist to lead the way. Sebastien Trudeau

Cole Hawes got the only goal in the first to give Shawinigan the 1-0 lead with 6:27 remaining. Jordan Kennedy got the start and made seven saves on eight chances.

62 seconds into the second, Orrpars got his first of the pre-season goal. Trudeau got the lone assist. With 3:39 left in the second, Billy Lacasse converted on his penalty shot chance.
Sébastien Trudeau tallied his second of the pre-season on the powerplay at the 7:26 mark. Orrpars and Pierre-Olivier Morin set the tally up. With 62 seconds to go, Alex Beaton got an unassisted empty netter.

Adrien Lemay relieved Kennedy and he stopped all twenty shots he faced. Gabriel Girard played the entire game stopping 34 of 37 shots. Lewiston was 1 for 8 with the man advantage. Shawinigan was 0 for 5.

Notes: Steeven Jacques, Samuel Grenache, Alexis Piette, Francis Beauvillier, Stefan Fournier, Mathieu Gingras, Jean-Francois Plante, and Mathieu Brisebois were all scratches for tonight’s game.

The Maineiacs host Shawinigan Sunday at 4:00pm.
