Pirates in search of new play-by-play

Portland, ME – When the Portland Pirates drop the puck in October, they will have a new play-by-play person calling the action on the ice after Greg Glynn resigned from the Pirates organization.

Greg Glynn - 188x300Glynn, citing health reasons, has decided to pursue other opportunities. He was absent for most of the road games last season, after undergoing back surgery to correct a disc problem.

Glynn joined the Pirates in 2004, replacing Dave Ahlers as the third play-by-play broadcaster in Pirates history. Glynn also was named as the Director of Communications where he handled day-to-day media relations and corporate duties.

In 2007, he was promoted to Vice President of Communications for the Pirates and served on the Development Committee for Gray’s House.

Glynn, 27, is a native of Sudbury, Massachusetts is a member of the American Sportscasters Association and is a graduate of Quinnipiac University.

No replacement has been named at this time.

    prerequisite is at least 2 yrs of PBP in addition to the duties
