Saco, ME- The Portland Jr. Pirates announced today that forward ’89 Nick Cummings of Waltham, Massachusetts has verbally committed to play for the University of New England Nor’Easters in Biddeford, ME for the 2009 – 2010 season.

This past season was his second with the Junior Pirates program. Cummings becomes the Junior Pirates 58th college commitment. Nick finished the season with 5 goals and 6 assists.

Nick joins teammates Russ Franey, John Melancon, Tyler Fleurent and Paul Kashmanian for the Nor’ Easters first Division III hockey season.

They also announced Bobby Hannah is heading to Hobart University, Paul Kashmanian is heading to the University of New England, and Tom Millis made a commitment to Franklin Pierce along with Matt Lopes.
