Henniker, NH – Sophomore Simon Laudon-Sorlin (Stockholm, Sweden) scored at 5:29 of sudden-death overtime to give fourth-seeded New England College a 4-3 victory over fifth-seeded University of Southern Maine Saturday night in a first round playoff game of the ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Men’s East at Lee Clement Arena.

Bowdoin season ends on Olvany’s goal

Williamstown, Mass. – Connor Olvany scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Williams College men’s ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over Bowdoin in the NESCAC quarterfinals on Saturday. Bowdoin finishes their ’08-’09 season with a 11-12-2 overall record while the Ephs, now 15-8-2, will play second-seeded Middlebury at Amherst next Saturday.

Lewiston, Me- Revenge is sweet. Kennebunk defeated the Falmouth Yachtsmen last year in the regional semi finals. This time the tables were reversed. Falmouth defeated Kennebunk 4-1. “Revenge is always nice,” says Falmouth senior forward Mike Chase. “Last year was tough,” says Scott Rousseau Head Coach of Falmouth. “Kennebunk was a good team.”

Gatineau, QC- The Lewiston Maineiacs began their three game road trip in three days on the right foot. They defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 2-1 in a shootout. Pier-Olivier Morin scored in the first period at the 8:49 mark of the first stanza. Denis Reul and Alexander Beaton assisted on the goal.
