Chestnut Hill, Mass- The Maine Black Bears are still looking for that first countable win since the turn of the calendar year. They fall to 0-6-1 in January after a 4-1 loss to the Boston College Eagles Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles got the goals from four different goal scorers. Tim Kunes would get the eventual game winner 2:50 into the second stanza. John Muse turned away 25 shots to get his eleventh victory of the season.

Mike Banwell had a terrific weekend for the Black Bears. He had a goal and an assist in the loss Saturday night. He added another goal Sunday afternoon. Dave Wilson made 22 stops in the losing cause.

The Eagles got on the board first when Joe Whitney potted his fourth of the season with 6:23 remaining in the first. Jimmy Hayes got the lone assist.

After Kunes made it 2-0 in the second, Banwell would get his second of the season at the 9:22 mark. It was a powerplay tally with Tanner House and Matt Duffy setting the goal up.

Boston College would go back up by two with a goal from a former Maineiacs’ draft pick Barry Almeida who lit the lamp for the fifth time this season. He never appeared in a Maineiacs’ sweater to keep his NCAA eligibility. Tim Filangieri and Ben Smith got the assists. The goal came at the 8:27 mark of the third.

Bruins prospect, Brock Bradford, got his Hockey East leading sixteenth goals of the year with 2:55 to go in the contest. Benn Ferriero and Brian Gibbons each had an assist on the goal.

Maine looks to end their current skid as they return to the Alfond Arena this weekend to face U-Mass Lowell on Friday night and a Super Bowl Sunday match up against the Massachusetts Minutemen. That game can be seen on ESPNU at 4pm.
