Portland, ME – Nothing like wasting a few frequent flyer miles for a quick little flight to Florida only turn around and come back to Portland. That’s exactly what happened with Mike Weber as the Sabres assigned him back to Portland today, less than 24 hours after recalling him due to injuries to Toni Lydman and Craig Rivet.

Weber left this morning and will meet the team in Springfield, Mass. tonight in time for the Pirates game against the Falcons. Matt MacDonald was signed to a PTO because of the shortage on defense and while Weber is back, the Pirates will keep MacDonald around at least for the weekend.
