By  Published: 30th November 2008

Brunswick, ME — Billy Crinnion scored with just 3:22 left in regulation for the Colby College men’s hockey team as the Mules settled for a 3-3 overtime tie with Salve Regina on Saturday at Bowdoin College.

The Mules led 2-0 after the opening period on a goal by Michael Belliveau just 1:07 into the game off a pass from Crinnion. Colby (2-2-1) went up by two goals when Chris Buonomo got his first collegiate goal off assists from Patrick Bursee and Wil Hartigan.

Salve Regina (1-6-2), though, scored three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead after two periods. Bryan Russell, Joe Colaianni, and Tyler Trott had the goals for the Seahawks.

Belliveau and Chris Talbert had assists on Crinnion’s goal in the third period. Talbert ripped a shot from the left side of the goal that came loose in front to the waiting stick of Crinnion, who knocked home the rebound to force overtime.

Chase Goodrich had 30 saves for Salve Regina, while Cody McKinney stopped 17 shots for Colby.
