Portland, ME – The Pirates will have their captain back this season as the Buffalo Sabres signed Tyler Bouck to a one-year contract.
Bouck spent last season with the Pirates under the Ducks affiliation where he scored 11 goals, 18 assists for 29 points, matching his career high in goal (11) in 79 games.
The 6-0, 196-pound native from Camrose, Alberta has played in 91 NHL games with Dallas, Phoenix and Vancouver. With such a young team, he will be an integral part of the Pirates line up for his veteran leadership, both in the locker room and on the ice.
With the addition, Mathieu Darche, Colin Murphy, Colton Fretter and now Bouck, the Sabres have made it loud and clear they want a veteran presence to help their prospects to learn and develop playing the professional game.
Welcome to the Buffalo Sabres family Portland fans. We take our hockey seriously here in Buffalo and we are now Portland Pirates fans as well. This should be a great beginning for Buffalo/Portland.
Go Sabres
Go Pirates
Wonderful news! Bouck is such a class act.
Chris, you obviously have a good inside track. Can you summarize where all the 2007-2008 former Pirates end up when all the dust settles?
Thanks for all the great info through all the upheaval.
Bouck doesn’t always get the credit he sometimes deserves. Bouck is a character player. Someone who Kevin Dineen has a great amount of respect for and to a smaller extent because he plays the game a lot like Dineen did. It’s not always about points, but what Bouck provides behind the scenes, especially with young group of prospects will be priceless.
all right now where are the other good familiar faces!! are we going to see anyone that we actually know?!
