Miller named RBK/AHL Player of the Week then recalled to Anaheim

By  Published: 14th January 2008

Just like I said, every time Brian Burke comes to town, somebody goes back with him.

There was speculation that it might have been Brian Salcido, but instead Burke took a forward back with him.

The Ducks announced late this afternoon that Drew Miller was recalled from the Pirates because George Parros, out with a deep knee bruise, was place retroactively on IR, dated back to January 9 and is currently listed as day-to-day.

Miller, just assigned to the Pirates on January 3, had a very big weekend for Portland when he scored five goals, three assists for eight points and was a +4 on the weekend as the Pirates went 4-0-0-0.

It’s good news for the kid as he came into Portland with the right attitude and worked extremely hard day in and day out.
