A major injustice has been righted by the AHL.
Earlier today, before the Pirates took to the ice against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Andrew Ebbett was named to the Canadian AHL-Star team for the upcoming AHL All-Star Classic, which will take place in Binghamton, N.Y. on Monday Jan. 28.

The Portland Pirates dropped a tough game today at home to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. In a 2-1 defeat, the Pirates had a difficult time finding offense as they looked like tired bunch, which spent the better part of a week on the road.

I’m sure Miller is not happy, but it was expected that he’d be back in Portland sooner rather than later. Miller named player of the week in the AHL prior to being summoned to Anaheim because George Parros was placed on IR with a deep knee bruise.

Gerald Coleman is out because of lingering problems due to a concussion he suffered at the beginning of the season. He’s only seen the net once in the last seven games for the Pirates and Dino wasn’t specific as to when the problems occurred, but did say that it was a very precautionary scratch.
