AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Lynx announced that rookie forwards Matt Christie and Ryan Dingle have been recalled to the American Hockey League by the Portland Pirates.

The Lynx are the ECHL affiliate of the Pirates of the AHL and the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the eighth round (236th overall) by Anaheim in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Christie has 18 points (6g-12a) and eight penalty minutes in 19 games for Augusta and three points (1g-2a) in two games with Portland.

The 23-year-old Dingle has 17 points (6g-11a) and 22 penalty minutes in 17 games with Augusta and two assists and four penalty minutes in seven games with Portland.

UPDATE: Christie and Dingle would make the most of their opportunities as they help lead the Pirates to a 5-4 win over the division-leading Providence Bruins. Christie would score two goals including the game winner, while shorthanded in the third period. Dingle had an assist on Christie’s first goal just 1:22 into the first period.
