One of the most influential members of the Stanley Cup winning Anaheim Ducks faced going under the knife on Monday.

The Anaheim Ducks have announced that they have not matched the offer sheet tendered last week by the Edmonton Oilers for winger Dustin Penner. As a result, Penner becomes property of the Oilers.

It appears that Dustin Penner’s days in sunny Southern California are over as the Anaheim Ducks have opted to not match four-year 21.25 million dollar offer.
