ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed goaltender Jonas Hiller to a one-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Hiller, 25 (2/12/82), has played for Davos of the Swiss National League-A for the past three seasons, going 77-44-9, with a 2.45 goals-against average (GAA) during that span. The 6-1, 180-pound netminder set a career-high in wins this past season, posting a 28-16-0 record in 44 appearances with a 2.60 GAA.

The Urnaesch, Switzerland, native helped Davos to capture the league title as well as the playoff championship in 2006-07. Hiller recently was the starting goaltender for Switzerland at the IIHF World Championship from April 27-May 13 in Moscow, Russia. He appeared in six games, posting a 2.51 GAA and .910 save percentage (SV%), finishing fifth among goaltenders in SV%. Hiller’s team was eventually eliminated by Team Canada, who went on to win the gold medal.
